What a catch! Hunky Derek Hough drapes himself in seaweed as he displays his torso on the beach

Catch of the day: Derek Hough was spotted draped in seaweed on the beach in Malibu today

He is the resident class clown on Dancing With The Stars and it seems Derek Hough plays the same part when the cameras stop rolling.
The professional dancer was seen larking around today as he spent a day at the beach in Malibu with his friends.
When he took a dip in the ocean, the 27-year-old decided to drape himself in seaweed which left him looking like a merman, much to the amusement of his pals.

He then removed the algae and showed off his muscular torso in a pair of swimming trunks as he cooled off in the waves.
Derek stayed active throughout the day and was spotted enjoying a game of beach volleyball with a group of his friends.
It looked like the TV star was going all out for the match and appeared to have dived for the ball on a few occasions as his trunks were covered in sand.

He was also seen spending lots of time playing with his new pooch Romeo, who he adopted earlier this month.
The pair have clearly already formed a very close bond and the rescue pup looked delighted to be spending some time outdoors with his loving new owner.
Derek then decided to take Romeo home and slipped on a white vest and matching baseball cap, which he wore backwards.

He posted a photo to his Twitter and Instagram pages of himself and the gorgeous dog, along with the caption: ‘Long day at the beach with my boy.’
Derek is currently gearing up for the fifteenth season of Dancing With The Stars, which kicks off next month and will feature past contestants.
The blonde, who is paired with Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson, has revealed it will be his final season on the show, dubbing it his ‘last hurrah’.
